How do OTS and OTF knives differ?

An automatic OTS knife is a knife that folds in on the side and has a mechanism that automatically deploys the blade with the use of a switch or a button. An automatic OTF knife also deploys with a button or switch, but the blade is ejected out the front.

How do I reset my auto knife?

Tekto knives have a built-in safety mechanism that causes the blade to go slack in the handle if there is anything in the path of the blade when it is deployed. If your knife is loose in the handle, please follow the steps outlined here to reset it.

Can I disassemble my automatic knife?

Please do not disassemble Tekto knives. Most issues can be resolved with a thorough cleaning - Tekto provides a walkthrough on this here. If there is an issue that requires disassembly, please contact us at support@tektoknives.com.

Are Tekto Knives Left-Handed?

Some Tekto knives are ambidextrous and can be augmented for left handed use. For a left-handed automatic knife, Tekto recommends our A5 Spry series, our A2 Badger, or our A3 Delta which has a reversible belt clip.

Knife laws are very location specific. The American Knife & Tool Institute offers a comprehensive guide to USA knife laws, free to reference, here. International customers should check with their local municipality.
